Information Availability Design and Management (STSP2)
Zielgruppe
This course is intended for
- Individuals who have a foundation knowledge of storage technologies, working in any storage environment, including storage managers and administrators, database and network administrators, and project managers.
- IT professionals who want to build their career in the storage industry.
- Faculties/instructors from EMC Academic Alliance (EAA)/ EMC Learning Partner (ELP) organizations.
- Individual who are seeking EMC Proven™ Professional Storage Technologist Specialist level certification.
Voraussetzungen
To understand the content and successfully complete this course, a student must have a basic understanding of the Storage technologies. The student must have an understanding of computers, operating systems, networking and databases. Ideally the student must possess Information Storage and Management Associate certification (E20-001). A list of specific prerequisite courses can be found in EMC Education Services Learning Management System.
Kursziele
Information Availability Design and Management is the second of the two courses in the
Storage Technologist track (EMCST) at the specialist level.
The course provides a comprehensive coverage on all aspects of planning, designing and
managing Information Availability solutions. In addition to providing the required technical
exposure to Backup and Recovery, Local and Remote replication, NAS Business
Continuity, and Data Archiving, the course also covers the design and implementation of
the appropriate solution based on availability requirements. This course builds on the
technology concepts and principles learned in ISM (prerequisite) and help participants to
apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios. Lectures and work-shop style case studies
provide a thorough exposure to the technology components, design considerations, and
best practices on various aspects of Information Availability.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Describe and establish an Information Availability infrastructure.
- Describe the technology components, considerations for designing, deploying, and managing a Backup and Recovery solution.
- Describe the technology components, considerations for designing, deploying, and managing local and remote replication solutions.
- Describe the technology components, considerations for designing, deploying, and managing a Network Attached Storage (NAS) business continuity solution.
- Describe the considerations for backup and replication in virtualized environment.
- Describe the technology components, considerations for designing, deploying, and managing Data Archiving solutions.
