Upper Layer Network Operations (NSNWULNO)
Zielgruppe
This course is intended for anyone who plans, designs, implements, installs, maintains, and supports EMC hardware and software solutions utilizing TCP/IP networks.
Voraussetzungen
To understand the content and successfully complete this course, participants must have a suitable knowledgebase/skill set. The prerequisites for this course include an understanding of proper lower layer network operations to deliver the upper layer data.
Kursziele
This course focuses on upper layer network operations. Participants will gain experience
with key client/server based network services by installing, configuring, and observing the
services within Unix and Windows environments. The services observed include name
services, configuration services, and security and authentication services; file access
services, as well as monitoring and messaging services. Students will also learn how to
build key components, including an NFS (Network File System) environment and a CIFS
(Common Internet File System) environment. The concentration is on industry standard
protocols.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Build, configure, and observe key client/server based network services in a distributed computing environment
- Explain how various network services interact together to form an operational network environment
- Identify network components, applications, and protocols for accessing data over the network
- Build a simple CIFS environment and observe its operations
- Evaluate network services and data access operations
- Construct a simple NFS environment and observe its operations
